About A Little Home Help

Welcome to A Little Home Help, where compassionate care meets professional service. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our clients by providing exceptional companionship and support.

A Little Home Help is a family-owned local business run by husband-and-wife team Chris and Heather. Born out of a passion for helping others, our founder, Christopher Lipscomb, saw a need for dedicated, personalized care for older adults and people with disabilities.

Drawing on his decades of experience in the health care service sector, he wanted to create a companionship service that you can rely on, which puts the choices and dignity of his clients at the forefront and collaborates closely with each person’s support network and care team.

Our mission is to provide compassionate, client-centered care that promotes independence, well-being, and a sense of community. We believe in the power of companionship to transform lives.

From emotional support and personal care to medication reminders and exercise assistance, we offer a wide range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Chris is an allied health professional with over 35 years experience working in the health care service sector, including community mental health teams, hospitals, disability group homes, aged care, and companion care. Chris is also a qualified yoga, meditation, and stress management teacher, and massage practitioner. Originally from Canberra, Australia, Chris now resides in beautiful Wasaga Beach. This diversity of roles gives him the experience and knowledge to provide a wide range of services to his companion clients, along with some great stories to share. Chris has a Certificate 4 in Mental Health, he is a Behavior Certified Trainer, PART Certified Trainer, and has current First Aid and CPR. Over his career, a few programs that Chris is most proud of include: •Creating and facilitating an art therapy program for mental health clients at the National Gallery of Australia. •Partnering with local providers to facilitate an accessible exercise program for people with disabilities. •Creating and facilitating a weekly social gathering for people living with mental illness. •Received an Allied Health Assistance Award for designing and facilitating a mental health recovery group which had ‘excellent outcomes for consumers.’ Chris’s love for gardening, cooking, and nature inspires him to help others to stay engaged in these things that bring light and joy to our lives. At home you might find him playing guitar, tending to his vegetable garden, or cheering on his favorite cricket, rugby, soccer, and AFL teams.
